11th Meeting of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities
The challenges faced by data protection authorities, due to the development of modern technologies, was the main topic of the 11th meeting of the Group of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities. The meeting was organised by the Romanian data protection authority.
During the discussion, the participants of the meeting focused on the data security of people using modern IT tools, such as online forums and social networks. The protection of data placed in various types of databases, such as the credit information system, was also analysed. The protection of employees' personal data and the development of biometrics were discussed, in particular the inclusion of biometric data on various types of identification cards.
At the meeting, it was decided that the next meeting, already the 12th, will take place in 2010 in Poland.
